Day at the Beach

A large fun Swedish mid century painting of a family heading to the beach.

Höglund started painting in his late teens when he and and a group of friends organised life drawing classes twice a week. They held regular exhibitions and became known as the Brynäsgruppen. At the age of 29 he moved to Stockholm to study under Edvin Ollers, moving to Paris to attend L'Académie de la Grande Chaumière and the better known Académie Julian. He was widely exhibited in Sweden in his lifetime.

Oil on cavas in vintage gilt wood frame with painted insert with some paint missing, but generally good condition.
