Gladioli in White Vase

Stunning very large Swedish painting of towering flame red gladioli and other purple and yellow flowers, in a white vase set on a round tabletop.  The brushstrokes are bold and energetic and the colours of the flowers really sing out against the grey-blue background. This is a really exceptional and exciting painting. 

Signed Carsten Ström, 1913-1995. Ström was an author as well as an artist, who studied art  in Berlin and Copenhagen. His children’s books were very popular in Sweden.
