Mare and Foal

Typically charming painting by Sigfrid Bengtsson 1898-1985.

Sigfrid studied in Stockholm and Malmö. He is known for his rural scenes of farm animals, in particular cows and horses. He is well represented in Swedish museums.

This is an adorable painting of a mare with her foal, showing  Bengtsson's typical naive simplicity and charm.
