Nude in Blue Room

Stunning Swedish nude of a pensive woman seated on a wooden chair, against a blue background. The paint on her skin appears to shimmer with pointillist technique, giving the work a striking effect.

Signed Monica Bratt, 1915-1961, dated 1942. Bratt was a successful artist and designer known for her glassware and paintings. She exhibited in the Museum of Modern Art in New York and is held by the National Museum in Stockholm.
