Yellow and White Flowers

Vibrant and expressive floral painting of yellow, white, and red flowers in a white vase. There is a charming detail of a walking couple in top right quadrant.

Signed Hans Ripa, 1912-2001. Ripa studied in his native Skäne, and then in Paris and Copenhagen. He travelled widely and painted all over Europe, including the South of France. He also worked as a theatre scenery painter and is widely held in museums throughout Sweden.

Oil on canvas in a vintage, mottled wood frame with linen insert. Please examine photos carefully; the inner gilt trim is chipped at top right and this has been allowed for in the price.
