White Village Balcony

Beautiful Swedish mid century painting which may remind you of summer holidays in Spain.  There is a wonderful sense of depth with the mountains rising up in the background and the village in front. Loosely painted in a palette of blues, olive greens and white with pink highlights. 

Signed Wahlberg 1923-1980. Bertil Gunnar Wahlberg was a painter, cartoonist and graphic artist. He travelled widely in Europe following WW2. He is known for his landscapes, although he also painted a large mural in a car dealership in Stockholm in 1966. He is held in several museums in Sweden
